In 2020, Shaun was at peak physical performance running marathons. By 2023, the weight of professional success and personal circumstances had pushed his health into the shadows. He was still the top executive in his region, but he was completely checked out of his own body. Running on fumes, respected by all, but quietly failing the man in the mirror.

I spent a decade where the body wasn't just part of the job — it was the job.
The Tour de France. The Vuelta a España. Five World Championships — including being a crucial teammate in Cadel Evans' historic 2009 World Road Race victory. A silver medal at the Under-23 World Road Championships. Seven of the major cobbled and Ardennes classics.

Then I spent a decade at Zwift — the American fitness-tech unicorn — leading a team through record growth across the APAC region at startup pace. The calendar never stops. Recovery is a luxury nobody budgets for. That's where I learned the difference between burning out and breaking through — having a system built for both the sprints and the marathons.

Through all of it — divorce, remarriage, IVF, three city moves, an MBA, three beautiful kids — I never let the identity drift. Not for an event, not for a goal. Because the standard existed before the pressure arrived.
I'm telling you this because the work requires it. To rebuild at a deep level — your energy, your output, your physical identity — takes genuine trust. That starts with me being honest about who I am and how I got here.

Why I built Rebuilt Leaders
I've been coaching people on their health long before I made it official.
It usually starts the same way. Someone mentions almost in passing — "I used to swim every morning" or "I used to run three times a week."
And I ask them, as gently as I can: why did you stop?
The "I used to" is still in there. It never left. It just got buried under the career, the calendar, the travel and the weight of everything else.

During my MBA at the University of Queensland I came across data that stopped me:

Only 24% of 35–44 year olds meet basic weekly activity guidelines. By 45–54 it drops to 20.6%. By 55–64 it falls below 20%.
